If you downloaded your NHS COVID Pass as a PDF or added it to your Apple Wallet before 1 November 2021, you’ll need to download, reprint or add an updated version before you travel to ensure your NHS COVID Pass is valid. If you download and print a copy of the NHS COVID Pass, the expiry date will not update and you will need to print a new copy when it has expired. You may need to either quarantine or provide tests to meet country entry requirements. In some countries you do not need to show your NHS COVID Pass. You can now scan your NHS COVID Pass to check and verify your vaccination status in over 40 countries, including EU countries. Make sure you familiarise yourself with the rules for foreign travel to and from Wales. If the names are different, contact your GP practice to have your details updated. You need to do this at least 2 weeks before you travel. You should check that the name on your passport matches what it is on the NHS COVID Pass for first forename and surname only. Check entry requirements for countries that you intend to visit (on GOV.UK). In addition to your NHS COVID Pass, you will need to follow other rules when travelling, such as pre-departure testing and isolation. This can be your vaccination records or proof of recovery from prior COVID-19 infection if you have tested positive on an NHS PCR test in the last 180 days. The NHS COVID Pass can be used for international travel to show your COVID-19 status when travelling abroad.
